Situated in the historic town of Arrowtown, this alteration of an old "crib" breathes new life and adds space while respecting its roots. While the program and external appearance are heavily modified, the structural bones are retained, and additions take the form and proportion of a traditional monopitched outhouse. Materials are pared back to a simple combination of timber, stone, and steel to respect the historic precinct and enhance the surrounding neighborhood.
